Theme System Overview

Themes control how your online storefront looks to your customers. By switching themes, you can completely change the visual style of your store -- colors, fonts, layout, and overall feel -- without touching any of your products, orders, or settings.

How Themes Work

Shop Craft uses a Shopify-like theme system. Each theme is a self-contained package that overrides the default storefront pages with its own design. Your store data stays the same; only the presentation changes.

Here is what themes control:

• Colors -- Primary, accent, background, and text colors (including dark mode variants)
• Typography -- Heading and body fonts
• Layout style -- How products, categories, and pages are arranged
• Component design -- The look of buttons, cards, headers, footers, and product grids
• Border radius -- Sharp edges vs. rounded corners throughout the store

TIP

Switching themes does not affect your products, orders, customers, or any other store data. It only changes how your storefront looks.

Managing Themes

You can manage your themes from the admin panel:

1. Log in to your Admin Panel
2. Go to Themes in the sidebar

From the Themes page, you can:

• View all installed themes in a visual grid with color previews
• Activate a theme to make it the live storefront theme
• Upload new themes from ZIP files
• Configure theme settings like colors, header style, and display options
• Delete themes you no longer need (except the default theme)

One Active Theme at a Time

Your store always has exactly one active theme. When you activate a different theme, the previous one is automatically deactivated. The switch takes effect immediately -- your customers will see the new design right away.

WARNING

If you delete a theme that is currently active, your store will automatically switch back to the Default theme.

Built-in vs. Custom Themes

Shop Craft comes with built-in themes that are ready to use out of the box. You can also upload custom themes purchased separately or created by a developer. See Built-in Themes to learn about the themes included with your store, or Uploading Custom Themes to add new ones.

Layout Editor

In addition to theme switching, Shop Craft includes a powerful drag-and-drop Layout Editor that lets you customize your homepage sections, header, and footer without needing a different theme. The Layout Editor works with any active theme.
